Harmony Science Academy-El Paso Tigerbots attended The International FLL Robotics competition which was held in May1-3, 2009 in Copenhagen , Denmark . There were approximately 60 teams that gathered from around the world for this Invitational Competition. All the teams were well prepared for the competition. Our tigers did not get any award, however they were nominated for all the competition areas. We believe the experience that they had will help them to be better for the next years' competitions. They still came home as WINNERS! We are so proud of them! They have opened doors for great opportunities, and are a great example for other Robotics teams in our great state! They got to meet and make friends with people from other countries. They also experience learning about different cultures and history. Thanks to our parents, teachers, and students for the great work.

Reading opens the doorway to knowledge and discovery. In order to encourage our students to read, below you will find the summer reading lists and assignment for students entering grades 4 through 11. All students will choose one book from the list for their grade level next year and complete the summer reading assignment. Our English teachers will collect this assignment during the first week of the 2009-2010 academic year. If you have questions, please contact your language arts teacher or school administration. On May 9, 2009 Harmony Science Academy celebrated its First Annual Grand Festival. We had thousands of guests being part of this important event. Our guests were entertained with different activities that were plan for the festival. Among the activities students and teachers, together with parents created a warming environment for our guests to have fun, and enjoyed a day with their families. Harmony Science Academy would like to thank all of our parents, students and staff members for making the First Annual Grand Festival a big success. Without your help and support this event couldn’t have been possible. We hope that everyone had fun and next year to continue being part of this important event.

Harmony school system offers 2nd annual Harmony Summer Leadership Camp to our students who are in 7th thru 10th grades. Boys’ camp is going to be at Cho-Yeh, between June 4 thru 10. Girls’ camp is going to be at T Bar M, between June 7 thru 12.

Our FTC (First Tech Challenge) robotics team competed at Alamo FTC Championship Tournament at AT&T Center. Our FTC team performed extremely well, we were ranked 4th going into finals and choose the alliances as a team captain. We made all the way to the semi-finals and got THIRD PLACE. Thanks to the teachers and students who were involved in this exciting event and wish the best luck for the future engineers.
